Amisha GhadialiAmisha Ghadiali is a sustainable fashion expert and a social and cultural innovator.

Founder of jewellery label, amisha \\ elegance rebellion, and of radical think-and-do tank, ThinkActVote (?!X), she has also worked as Associate Director of the Ethical Fashion Forum and as Vice-Chair of the Yes-to-a-Fairer-Vote Campaign. In spring 2012 Amisha will publish her first book, Creating The Future, bringing together ideas and artwork from over two hundred contributors.

A spokesperson with national and international reach, her writing has appeared in publications including The Source, Drapers, Style with Heart, Eco Age and US online Ecouterre, where she regularly blogs as the ‘girl across the pond’, and she is a frequent speaker on topics including fashion, political engagement and sustainability at panels and events across the world.

Amisha is currently working with the Soho House Group curating and hosting a series of events called Future Fashion dedicated to the politics of dressing in an increasingly throwaway world. At the start of 2012, she launched her 12 Rules To Dress By and called for 2012 to be the year of the sustainable wardrobe.

This unique breadth of experience has led to consultancy roles in fields as diverse as campaign design, community hosting, strategic thinking and event production, as well as communication. In addition she is on the London City Chapter Board for micro-bartering non-profit Nest working with artisan women around the world, a trustee of the Foundation for Democracy and Sustainable Development and an elected member of the Electoral Reform Society Council.

Amisha’s social entrepreneurship has been recognised by selection to the Cultural Leadership Programme and the Courvoisier Future 500, a Future 100 Award, and, among other honours, a Fellowship of the Royal Society of the Arts, defining her as a dynamic and emerging leader of the space for social change in the 21st century.

Between projects she can be found searching for inspiration under the sea (equipped with scuba gear), practising yoga or blowing off steam in a karaoke bar.

Amisha was born in the UK in the early 80’s to Indian parents of different religions from Bombay and Gujarat. She is fascinated with what makes us as humans different and the same, and how we engage with nature and our surroundings. She loves to travel to experience and understand other cultures and traditions, which has led to intriguing adventures in places around the world including Palestine, Bulgaria, Iceland, Latin America and of course India.
